Conference venues do's and don'ts
Do's and Don'ts of Venue Selection
Choosing a venue is an art in itself, and the more information you can give us about your needs, the better selection we can offer. Sometimes all that really matters is the location; is it close to a specific airport or office? On other occasions it will be the sheer number of guests that counts, and do they have to be at one venue or simply nearby? We'll ask all these questions as a matter of course, it's part of our job and why our service works so well, but it's worth putting in a little thought before hand.
Essentials, potentials, and wouldn't it be nice
Try making three lists, one for essential things, one for things you'd potentially like, and those that would be the icing on the cake.
The essentials list will obviously cover the number of rooms, catering capacity, location and conference facilities. But equally it might be that your conference or meeting won't work unless there's fast internet access in every bedroom. This is your most important list, so make sure everything's there.
The potentials should cover all those things that will make your event or meeting better than any other - the feel of the venue for instance. Do you want a unique or unusual location, or a restaurant with a particularly good reputation? The event won't fail without them, but they will make a huge difference.
Then there's the rest, the things we love to find for our clients. They can be as obscure as a style of interior decoration that fits with a conference theme, historical connections that add to the sense of occasion, even a particular cocktail behind the bar. They all count and we'll do our best to find each one.
